Resumen:
A metamorphic complex mainly composed of greenschists and micaschistsof varying metamorphic grade up to amphibolite facies,constitutes an important unit within the basement of the presentvolcanic arc in the Chiloe segment (c. 42º S Lat.; Fig. 1) of the southernAndes. Ultramac bodies are associated with the metamorphicrocks (Fig. 2). The presence of Devonian fossils in low-grademetapelites at the locality of Buill, has been taken as to indicate thatthe metamorphic complex has a Devonian depositional age.
