Resumen:
Geological, petrographical and geochemical features of
Ventana Formation in Nahuel Huapi, San Martín de los Andes and Río Aluminé area
are analyzed. This study shows the presence of a basalt-andesite-dacite
calcoalcaline magmatic series with tuffs (ash fall and flowstuffs) associated
with epiclastic rocks (diamictites, psammites and pelites). According to the
information here obtained it is established that the studied magmatic series
belongs to a part of a marginal calcoalcaline magmatic arc within the andean
orogenic belt.
