Resumen:
Latin America wasn’t the exception to the renewed interest in the study of right-wing populisms, as it emerged as the scene of a unique access by governments of this sign in the context of democratic game, leaving behind the pink wave of left-wing governments with which the 21st century was inaugurated. This phenomenon has encouraged a wide development of studies focused on analyzing the different dimensions of political-institutional life. In this context, however, foreign policy has been an analytical vacancy because it has generally been regarded as one of the most stable public policies with the capacity to transcend ideological turns. For this reason, this article will stop at the experiences of the Argentine and Brazilian governments during the Macri and Bolsonaro administrations, in order to try to solve two large dimensions: 1) - the right-wing tradition to which they subscribe (liberal/conservative or radical/reactionary), observing the ruptures and continuities with previous democratic experiences in each of the countries; 2)- bilateral relations between the two countries and the way of relating and thinking in relation to the United States, as a great hegemonic country of the hemisphere. The response of these dimensions will allow us to understand the analytical differences between two right-wing traditions that need not to be confused as well as expand the study around the right in Latin America to unexplored fields.
