Resumen:
The horticultural sector of Río Cuarto has availability of suitable land and irrigation water for production of fruits and vegetables. With regard to the horticultural activity, the cultivation of chard is second in importance. Several studies show that plant growth‐promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) can optimize the ability of plants to absorb nutrients. PGPR also promote seed germination and stimulate growth and yield of several crops such as cereals, oilseeds and vegetables, among others. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of single and coinoculation of Pseudomonas spp. and Azospirillum spp. on growth and yield of chard (Betavulgaris) in the field. The assay was carried out in a field from the southwest zone of the horticultural sector of Río Cuarto (Córdoba, Argentina). The National variety of chard known as Bressane® was used and the treatments were: (1) Pseudomonas spp (Ps), (2) Azospirillum spp (Az) and (3) both in Coinoculum (CoI). The inoculation was carried out in two ways: only at sowing (1I) and at sowing and after 15 days (2I), which made a total of seven treatments, including the uninoculated control (T). Each treatment was performed in triplicate following a completely randomized design in plots.
