FOSSIL WOOD RECORDS IN THE SOUTHERNMOST AREA OF CARRIZAL FORMATION, SAN JUAN, ARGENTINA: The sedimentary records of the southernmost outcrops of the Carrizal Formation in the El Gigantillo hill area are reported. The sedimentological arrangements are conglomerates, coarse sandy followed with deposits of tabular sandstones and massive mudstones, these facies are linked to the Rickard Member (Upper). The distribution of 58 remains of fossil logs along 250m of profile is shown. Taphonomic connotations and correlations were made with outcrops in the northern part of the basin.
