Resumen:
In this work, the building and performance of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) known as onechamber cells functioning in methane and air mixtures are presented. One-chamber cells working at high temperature (with ZrO2-Y2O3 electrolyte, (La;Sr)MnO3 cathode and NiO or NiO/ZrO2-CeO2, compound material as anodes) were studied. These cells attained a power density 53 mW/cm2 at 950°C. At the same time, fuel cells functioning at intermediate temperature (with CeO2-Sm2O3 electrolyte, (Sm;Sr)CoO3 cathode and NiO/PdO/CeO2-Sm2O3 anode) showed a power density 97 mW/cm2 at 600°C.
