Resumen:
In this work the results derived from a more extensive analysis about the diatom flora of coastal sites located in Bahia Anegada, Pehuen-có, Claromecó, and Monte Hermoso (province of Buenos Aires, Argentina) are presented. The genus Eunotograma Weisse is recorded for the first time in the country and the species Delphineis minutissima (Hustedt) Simonsen and Nitzschia hummii Husted are recorded for the first time in the Atlantic coast of the Southern Hemisphere. The former species has been reported only occasionally in the world and the latter one has only been mentioned in its original description. Moreover, the ultraestructure of N. hummii and D. minutissima which have not been analysed with electron microscopy up to now, are described. Although they are characteristics of sediments, the analysed taxa were found in planktonic samples. In Bahia Anegada, this probably results from the removal of material from the sea bottom, maybe due to high wind stress and water discharges of surrounding rivers in the bay, which affect this area during some periods of the year.
