Resumen:
A new broken rotor bars detection strategy for induction motor drives based on the injection of a zero-sequence carrier is proposed. The injection of this signal is implemented with a standard space vector PWM by connecting the motor neutral point to the DC-link midpoint. The proposed strategy does not affect the control loop of the fundamental currents. New detection signals based on the current derivatives measured in the zero vectors of the PWM are presented. Analytical and experimental results validate the proposal showing a good performance for the detection of this fault.
