Resumen:
A new method for estimating the states of an induction motor fed by a three-phase inverter using only one current sensor in the DC-Link is proposed. This current measurement allows computing the phase currents by knowing only the switching states. As this measurement is not always possible, an adaptive observer is proposed for a continuous current and flux estimation. This information is used to implement a rotor-field-oriented direct vector controller. The proposed algorithms were implemented in a high performance digital signal processor (TMS320F2812). Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme presents very good dynamic response and steady state accuracy at speeds down to 0.05 p.u. It is concluded that this method is very convenient in low power applications for reducing costs without significantly affecting the control performance.
