Resumen:
MFI structured zeolitas of the ZSM-5 type were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. These zeolites were modified with the incorporation of Co and Mn cations by the wetness impregnation method, as single species or combined. The materials were characterized by XRD, FTIR and magnetization measurements as function of the applied field at room temperature. Neither the metallic species incorporation, nor the thermal treatments applied affected the high cristallinity and purity degree of the initial zeolites. Co incorporation over Mn modified samples induced a change on their magnetic behavior, from a diamagnetic one to a ferromagnetic component. The catalysts so far characterized were tested for the selective styrene oxidation with hydrogen peroxide. Best results were obtained for the samples with minor Brönsted/Lewis acid sites ratio. Co,Mn bimetallic sample showed  higher conversion values than Mn monometallic one, even that its activity was poorer than monometallic Co catalyst.
