The Kramers-Krönig relations, absorption coefficient, the oscillator picture, multioscillator fit, ellipsometry, acquisition of an infrared spectrum, the infrared spectrum. SECOND DAY Applications of IR spectroscopy, phenomenological theory for phonon activity in polar ionic crystals, transverse and longitudinal optical split (Lyddane-Sachs-Teller (LST) relation), polariton dispersion relations , phonons and plasma.
