Resumen:
In this article, we propose to resume the discussions and claims around cognitive capitalism, and place them on a reflection upon the publishing industry, focusing strongly on the developments on ICTs and their impact on this field. We aim at discovering to what extent these changes are affecting the publishing industry in our country and, therefore, creating the need for new skills on the side of the publisher as a dominating figure in publishing houses. Firstly, we intend to put forward some definitions about cognitive capitalism, and then delve into the specific subject of this paper: we will acknowledge the behavior of the publishing industry locally and globally, to then think about the changes raised by the ICTs in the organization of the industry, after that we will propose ?taking into account three publishing enterprises operating at various levels? some incipient considerations on emerging modifications that are being introduced to the organization of publishing houses and to the practices of several publishers.
