Resumen:
The life and career of Argentine artist Eugenia Crenovich, known as Yente, has always been entangled with artist Juan del Prete, her partner from 1935. This omnipresent association has obscured her long path in the art scene of Latin America. Like other women artists working within abstract languages, like Anita Payró, Yente would feel compelled to claim her role in developing new ways of expression. This article examines an intriguing piece by Yente, through which viewers are faced with an unusual presence. An object, similar to a sculpture but with elements from other media, is presented to us. Its shallow depth, its surface worked in a geometric but irregular way, and the empty spaces at the bottom disorient our gaze.
