Resumen:
We focus our attention on developing flame retardanthybrid materials based on a trimethoxysilanefunctionalized benzoxazine monomer (BA-3aptms) thatallows the incorporation of Si-O-Si units in the polymernetwork. This siloxane group is well known as aneffective flame retardant moiety2. In this work, thesynthesis and characterization of two systems based onBA-3aptms, diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)and a benzoxazine based on aniline and bisphenol A(BA-a) are studied, in order to evaluate the effect ofsiloxane groups on the thermal, mechanical andthermomechanical properties of the resultingmaterials.
