Resumen:
In this study, a phosphorus-compound was incorporated into the structure of the benzoxazine in then form of phenylphosphine oxide functional group in a diamine-based benzoxazine. The polybenzoxazines with different phosphorus content were prepared from copolymerisation of Bz-BAMPO either with the conventional Bisfenol A based benzoxazine or with diglycidylether of Bisphenol A. The curing behaviour of these materials was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Finally, the properties of the materials were evaluated by termogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMTA) and the limiting oxygen index (LOI).Phosphorus-containing polybenzoxazines can be prepared from mixtures of bis(maminophenyl)methylphosphine oxide based mbenzoxazine and glycidylether or benzoxazine of Bisphenol A. Higher curing temperatures for them benzoxazine-epoxy system are needed. All the obtained materials show high Tg values and higher crosslinking densities are observed for benzoxazine-epoxy systems. No significant differences are observed in the thermal degradation behaviour of the two series of samples. However LOI values are significantly higher for the benzoxazine-epoxy systems.
