Resumen:
Diversity of genetic materials contained in traditional varieties, modern cultivars and wild species contributes to plant genetic resources. The aim of this work was to characterise by means of morphologic, biochemical and molecular traits different cultivated genotypes, wild species and recombinant lines obtained by crossing a cultivated genotype and a wild species. Highly significant differences were found between these genotypes for all traits and the cluster analysis allowed to separate cultivated genotypes from the others. Two ripening stages in the fruit were analyzed and pericarp protein profiles were also obtained to classified these genotypes. These protein profiles obtained at mature green and red ripe stages showed high degree of polymorphism. Polymorphisms among genotypes were found either at the same or at different ripening stages. Genotype classifications by means of these cluster analysis showed that taxonomic classification is independent of the classification obtained using these fruit ripening stages.
