Streptomyces from soils contaminated with boron compounds

The aim of this chapter is to discuss about seven boron-tolerant Streptomyces and one Lentzea isolated from soils naturally and anthropogenically contaminated with high concentrations of boron compounds in Salta, northwest of Argentina, where there is aggressive mining exploitation and processing. To the best of our knowledge there is no specifi c published information about Streptomyces or Lentzea genus tolerant to high boron concentrations.
