Resumen:
Rhizobia specifically interact with legume roots inducing structures called nodules where the atmospheric nitrogen fixation occurs. Several bacterial polysaccharides (glucans, exopolysaccharides, lipopolysaccharides and capsular polysaccharides) have been shown to play a role during the nodulation process. In this report we perform a structural analysis of  the lipid A present in a lipopolysacharide purified from Mesorhizobium loti by UV-MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry compared with the lipid A obtained from  a mutant strain.
