Abstract
A hybodontiform shark spine is described from Tithonian beds of the Vaca Muerta Formation of the Neuquén pronvice, northwestern Argentinian Patagonia. This is the first shark record from rocks of certain Triassic or Jurassic age of South America and the southermost occurrence of a hybodontiform shark.
