Resumen:
The Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) was an intergovernmental initiative announced in 1994 between 34 states in the Western Hemisphere - all states except Cuba - to create a trade bloc stretching from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. Although this was never accomplished, the FTAA represented the most ambitious trade integration scheme ever attempted. Equally, it was one of the most disputed of such attempts. This five-volume Encyclopedia contains over 600 entries on the essential topics of Globalization and is the definitive reference resource for students, researchers and academics in the field.
