Resumen:
The article looks at the shifting socio-political context in Latin America in relation to the policies and social responses to corporate accountability challenges. The recent conflicts generated by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and socio-environmental conflicts derived from the mining industry evidence new space to advance in better national and international instruments to hold corporations accountable for their actions.
