Resumen:
Cyclic softening exhibited by well-annealed hcp metals is currently associated either to dislocation rearrangements [Mater Sci Eng 60 (1983) L3; J Nucl Mater 326 (2004) 195] or to the so-called ‘‘texture rotation induced cyclic softening’’ effect [Scripta Mater 38 (1998) 565; Scripta Met Mater 31 (1994) 1475]. The current paper shows some decisive texture measurements in Zry-4 and simulations that are inconsistent with the last model and favor a dislocation–nterstitial interaction effect.
