In this paper the social construction of the landscape is discussed and how the meaning of identity and territoriality can emerge in relation to a ritual space. By topographically linking and analyzing monumental constructions or arrangements of stone, and the location of cave paintings and cemeteries, a ritualized landscape can be fashioned. Archaeological information from the Lihué Calel sierras is utilized here. This area is located in the western sector of the Pampas region of Argentina.
