Resumen:
Plants overexpressing AtHSCB and hscbknockdown mutants showed altered iron homeostasis.The overexpression of AtHSCB led to activation ofthe iron uptake system and iron accumulation in rootswithout concomitant transport to shoots, resulting inreduced iron content in the aerial parts of plants. Bycontrast, hscb knockdown mutants presented the oppositephenotype, with iron accumulation in shoots despitethe reduced levels of iron uptake in roots. AtHSCB playa key role in iron metabolism, probably taking part inthe control of iron translocation from roots to shoots
