Resumen:
In the last years, some new mosses and liverworts have been recorded from Uruguay . In this country, eleven species of the genus Fissidens were documented. During a revision of bryophytes collected in the National Park Fortaleza, in the northeast of Uruguay, F. perfalcatus was found. According to Matteri (2003) this species was previously unrecorded in this republic, although it is known in others South American countries as Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Suriname and Trinidad. Fissidens perfalcatus is distinguished by the unipapillose laminal cells; limbate leaves with the limbidium restricted to broad vaginant laminae which enclosing stem.
