Resumen:
The distribution of Pleurochaete Lindb. (Pottiaceae, Musci) in Argentina is discussed. Pleurochaete squarrosa and P. luteola are morphologically and geographically defined. Pleurochaete luteola is mapped for the Neotropics, including northwestern Argentina.
