Resumen:
Organic phoovoltaics using Platinum tetraphenyl benzoporphyrin (PtTPBP) as the donor layer were prepared succesfully giving relatively high efficiencies compared to those using Copper phthalocyanine. The Voc is highly increased and the origin of this effect is explored. It is believed that molecules presenting high intersystem crossing efficiency that yields triplet excited states result in materials with longer exciton diffusion length. However, despite the strong triplet component of the PtTPBP, a thin film of this molecule does not seem to yield a high diffusivity for excitons. This effect is also studied in the presented work.
