Resumen:
We report thedraft genome sequence of Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis biovar. diacetylactisCRL264, a natural strain isolated from Northwestern Argentinian Artisanalcheese. L. lactis subsp. lactis biovar. diacetylactis is one of the mostimportant microorganism used as starter culture around the world. The CRL264strain constitute a model microorganism in the studies on the aroma compounds-diacetyl, acetoin and 2, 3-butanediol- generation by lactic acid bacteria. Ourgenome analysis show similar genetic organization to others available genome ofL. lactis biovar. diacetylactis strains.
