Resumen:
Temperature-programmed retention indices for gas chromatography of eleven cyclic organic peroxides weredetermined on slightly polar columns coated with 5% biphenyl-95 % dimethyl polysiloxane (DB-5 and Rtx-5MS)at three heating rates (5, 10 and 20 ºC min-1 from 60 to 300 ºC) installed in different chromatographs. Cyclicorganic di- and triperoxides give nearly constant retention indices at different heating rates with a short isothermalhold time (5 min) prior to the programmed heat-up. The usefulness of the temperature-programmed retentionindices was demonstrated as the first step in the identification analysis of unknown cyclic organic peroxides makingpossible the prediction of retention times and structures of some unknown di or triperoxides derived from ketones. The identification process results largely facilitating which otherwise would demand the availability of referencescompounds.
