Since the advances in genetic knowledge, great expectations have been generated from the market and the media about who should be able to have access to genetic information and how could it be used. The State, private companies, laboratories, health insurance companies and employers claim for their rights to know and manipulate individual genetic information. Within this context we wonder to what extent are individuals benefited with the use of their genetic information by such institutions and companies.
In the present paper, we will analyse whether health insurance companies have right to access to individual genetic information.
