SUMMARY
In this article the ethical
aspects of organ transplants analyzed in the current social framework of
technological globalization and regional integration. For this purpose we
studied the transplant national legislation of Brazil,
Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. The Asymmetries and
common pints among them were established by applying to the above mentioned
analysis an ethical theory that allow justify the publicly acceptable moral
criteria of every rational and impartial person in the topic of organ
transplants. Finally, considering the irreversibility of the integration
process carried out by our countries -MERCOSUR- the establishment of
Supranational Commission on Bioethics and Organ Transplants is proposed. This
entity would be called to establish common ethical criteria, harmonizing our
legislations and preparing agreements and protocols in order to promote the
availability, the regional interchange of organs and the equal access to
trasplants.
