Resumen:
ABSTRACT In the present paper I will focus on the study of the principle of risk selection required by health insurance companies. Risk classification is essential to this model in order to ensure that the premium charge is proportionate to the risk assumed. At the theorical level the moral justification for this private health system is founded on “individual responsability” –lifestyle risks– and “actuarial fairness”. My aim throught this analysis is to show how the libertarian principles used to defend the private health insurance do not justified this model.
