Resumen:
There are Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) problems which require to use high performance computing resources through specialized parallel codes in order to deal with their numerical solution. Also, the computational effort involved in the solution of the fluid flow equations can be several orders of magnitude higher than that required to solve the structure equations, so that different discretizations and even adaptively refined meshes might be neededfor the fluid. Within this context, the use of partitioned algorithms between the fluid and the structure dynamics are convenient. In this work, we develop two of the stages for these kind of partitioned schemes, namely the solution projection and the fluid-structure interface tracking, considering that the fluid and the structure meshes may not be coincident at the FSI interface. The underlying idea is to couple two independent codes, PETSc-FEM and elPaso, tocompute the numerical solution of FSI problems.
