Resumen:
The strategies for the development of the Sugar Cane-Derivatives Industry has been aimed at obtaining products with a higher added value using not only by-products but also different intermediate products of the sugar process in a flexible production arrangement. The goal of the present contribution is to facilitate decision-making about which alternatives are technically, materially, economically, environmentally and financially favorable. In this work, we describe the models for an Industrial Sugar Complex with integrated plants for the production of derivatives: bioethanol and Torula yeast for cattle feeding. Continuous, semicontinuous and batch processes are included in these models. The models are written in GAMS (General Algebraic Modeling System) to optimize different alternatives, in order to meet proper levels of sugar production and byproducts, with a rational use of the technological resources of the complex and offering solutions to energetic and environmental problems.
