Resumen:
The project analyse the relationship between land uses production and avian biodiversity in the Chaco semiarid of Argentina, exploring a gradient of land use situations in terms of economic productivity and biodiversity. Birds communities responded along the production gradient, being natural forest and extensive livestock at one extreme of the gradient, and crops and pastures on the other hand. We found silvopastoril beneficial for production (pastures) and birds (tree forest strata). We found species that are specialist of a certain land used and others that use more than one, this suggest predictions about species and guilds habitat requirements.
