Resumen:
Several studies are reinforcing the knowledge aboutthe biodiversity in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean. The species Pentactella perrieri(Ekman, 1927), is a dendrochirotid (Holothuroidea: Dendrochirotida) of thefamily Cucumariidae. This species was first descripted by Ekman (1925) as Cucumaria laevigata (Verrill, 1886)although he changed his idea when he checked the specimens of Cucumaria laevigata (now Pentactella laevigata Verrill, 1886)from Antartica and Kerguelen, describing this new species as Cucumaria perrieri Ekman (1927). Here a redescription of the species was made, including the syntypes from the Naturhistoriska riksmuseet, Stockholm, Sweden (SMNH) and specimensfrom the Museo Argentino de CienciasNaturales, Buenos Aires, Argentina (MACN). In addition comparisons withother species were made, including species from Pentactella and other species from the family Cucumariidae. Thisinformation increases the knowledge on the genus for thesouthwestern Atlantic.
