Resumen:
Disparity between the knowledge produced and knowledgerequired to address complex environmental challenges, suchas biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation, continues to grow. Systems thinking under the OpenStandards for Conservation framework can help close this gapby facilitating interdisciplinary engagement, advancingconversations on how environmental systems work, andidentifying actions that could be implemented to achievedefined conservation goals. Here, we present a modellingexercise for one of the most endangered forested systems inthe world: The Gran Chaco. We focus on unsustainablehunting, a pressing threat to this system. We highlightknowledge gaps that underpin all parts of an adaptivemanagement process from understanding key relationships insocial-ecological systems to design and implementation ofstrategies for Gran Chaco conservation as well as evaluationof outcomes.
