An intelligent network of sensors permits to acquire and fuse data in a private zone where the sensors have to be unfolded. This at the same time permits to automate and to plan functions of high level as monitoring and the detection of events of interest. The development and utilization of this technology has a profound impact in productive and urban media. In some cases, sensor networks allow more efficient solutions (therefore reducing costs), while in others they offer novel solutions to problems without satisfactory solutions at present. The present chapter focuses on acoustic sensors, visual sensors and fusion information for sensor networks.
