Resumen:
Inthis paper, we designed a High Spectral Resolution Lidar (HSRL) using a laserthat oscillates in a multi-longitudinal mode. Rayleigh and Mie scatteringcomponents are separated using a Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) with thesame free spectral range (FSR) as the transmitted laser. The transmitted laser lightis measured as a reference signal with the same MZI. By scanning the MZIperiodically with a scanning range equal to the mode spacing, we can identifythe maximum Mie and the maximum Rayleigh signals using the reference signal. The cross talk due to the spectral width of each laser mode can also beestimated. We present some simulation results related to the selection of thetransmission laser. The optimal laser has shorter resonator length, shorterpulse length, and less beam divergence
