Resumen:
Although the so-called First Peronism (1946-1955) has been subject to a great number of  research studies on Argentina’s history, the ideology of the political actors who took part in the Peronist government has not received widespread attention.  Most of the studies carried out about  Peronism have focused on the charismatic figure of Juan Domingo Perón, and this in turn  has concealed the influence of other players who also took part in the public sphere during those years.  We will focus on the period between 1929-1946 in an attempt to trace back Ramón Carrillo’s political links,  first Public Health Minister of Argentina.  We will pay special attention to his participation both in the military arena and university sphere, since these areas of political sociability deepened his links with Nationalism and enabled him to become a key player in the design and implementation of public health policies.
