Resumen:
This presentation, titled ?Mapping Revolution...? I will analyze the variations on the political map of Spanish America between 1800 and 1860. This is the period of the dissolution of Spanish Empire in America and the Latin America revolutions for independences, the period between the rupture of bonds between the Spanish America colonies and the Spanish Crown (at the beginning of the century) and, consequently, the formation of the new countries in South America (around mid nineteenth century). This is part of a larger research addressed to inquire how geographical information circulated in the Atlantic World during the first half of the 19th Century. But specifically here, I?ll limit my presentation to the geographical and political information about Latin American during and after the revolutions for independence, which.Methodologically, I explored those variations on the political map of South America by examining different political maps of South America published European and American atlases.
