Resumen:
We demonstrated a protective effect
of lidoca- ine (L) on ouabain (O)-induced therapeutic and toxic action in isolated
rat atria, associated with an increase in the high affinity state and a decrease
in the low affinity state of ouabain. Blockade of Na+-
Ca2+ exchange with KB-R7943 or cardiac T-type Ca2+
channel mimicked lidocaine action.
Results suggest a beneficial effect of L on O-induced
therapeutic and toxic actions.
