Bovine viral diarrhea virus(BVDV) is an important pathogen of cattlethat can cause significant economic lossesin livestock industries, mainly due toreproduction failures and immunosuppressionthat predispose to opportunistic infections. Itis known that infected animals elicit type-IIIinterferon; however, there is no information onthe antiviral activity of this cytokine in cattle.
