Resumen:
The aim of this article is to explore different concepts and interpretations of landscapes in archaeology from different theoretical perspectives. The analytical units used to approach the landscape study involves three domains: physical matrix (ecological realm), social structure (sociological realm), and ideational sphere (symbolic realm). We consider that three domains are linked in a winding network, and in this sense we should characterize each of them as methodological step to reach better interpretation about human landscapes changes. Using the study of relationships between archaeological contexts and landforms systematic analysis of archaeological materials, etnoarchaeological and ethnographic studies, we intend to interpret the changes that took place in the three dimensions of landscape along hunter-gatherers occupation. In this paper two archaeological localities are considered at Somuncurá plateau, in Río Negro province: Plan Luan and the lower basin of Arroyo Talagapa. The results obtained in the survey and preliminary excavations allow us to suggest that the first human occupation might have happened before mid Holocene. Those populations were hunter-gatherers who used moist plains.
