Resumen:
Regenerative properties of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs)are largely mediated by paracrine mechanisms, including the secretion of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Exosomes are EVs ofendosomal origin that may constitute a safe and effective cell-freetherapy. We developed a scalable chromatographic procedure forproduction of exosomes derived from human MSCs over-expressingheme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) that might have anti-inflammatory/immunosuppressive potential. MSCs were activated with hemin,an HO-1 inducer, for 24 h and subsequently cultured in a chemicallydefined protein-free media (CDPF) during 48 h to collect theexosomes.
