Descripción:
A diagnostic involving the Argentine anchovy fishery was carried outfollowing the framework proposed by the IMBER-ADApT (Integrated MarineBiogeochemistry and Ecosystem Research - Assessment based on Description,Responses and Appraisal for a Typology) International Project hosted in theBritish Columbia University (Canada). The purpose of this initiative is to collect case studies to develop adecision support tool to enable managers, researchers and localstakeholders to:(1) make decisions efficiently, (2) improve their response and(3) evaluatewhere to most effectively allocate resources to "reduce"vulnerabilityand enhance the capacity of coastal peoples to adapt to globalchange. Thisdecision tool, IMBER-ADApT will build on knowledge learned from existingmarinecase studies, where some action was taken to counteract theenvironmental, social or other impacts of global change. The case studies shouldtake intoaccount the highly interconnected natural and human systems of today.
