The article focuses on how the territorial mobility of young people in formal education who are from migrant families affect their intra- and intergenerational relationships. We used an ethnographic ap-proach with young people in schools in Argentina. We show that based on the perspectives of the young people who participated in the study, the family migratory project is usually a source of inter-generational tension, primarily in how they engage with their education. In addition, experiences of multiple territories appear in the reconstruction of socio-educational trajectories associated with both situations in which they have felt discriminated or stigmatized by their peers and with opportu-nities to develop new friendships. In these contexts, we observed that the experience of "feeling different" converts into a "we" in which the meanings of friendship are constructed and negotiated.
