Resumen:
Nanotechnologyof thin films is a multidisciplinary science that has attracted attentionaround the world owing to the impact that these films can have in thetechnology sector [1]. Among the thin film production techniques,layer-by-layer (LbL) self-assembly stands out because of its versatility, whichhas enabled applications in the fields of biomaterials, biosensors, drug/genedelivery, tissue engineering, implantable materials, diagnostics, electronics, energy, and optics [2]. Recently,our group has developed immunogenic peptides derived from the Cry1Ab16 toxinfrom Bacillus thuringiensis (Fig. 1. ) with in silico prediction based on thestructural features of the toxin, aiming at further development of antibodiesfor use in sensors for the detection of GMOs or environmental sensors. Cry1Abis a toxin of insecticidal crystal proteins (ICP) that has been widely used inGMOs to gain resistance to pests [3]. Therefore,the aim of this work was the immobilization of the PcL342-354C peptide, derivedfrom the Cry1Ab protein, in the form of LbL films for future applications inGMO sensors.
