Mycobacteriumtuberculosis(Mtb)causesnearly10millionsofnewtuberculosisdisease(TB)casesannually.However,mostindividualsexposedtoMtbdonotdeveloptuberculosis,suggestingtheinfluenceofahumangeneticcomponent.SeveralreportsindicatedthatTh17cells,producingIL-17A,IL-17FandIL-22,contributetotheadaptiveimmuneresponseagainstMtbinindividualsexposedtothepathogenandintuberculosispatients,buttheroleofIL-17Fisstillunclear.Inthiswork,weinvestigatedtheassociationoftheIL-17Frs763780SNP(TC,whichgeneratesaproteinthatisanaturalIL-17Fantagonist)withTBinArgentina.
