R network: strucure and growing

R is a free, open source and multi-platform language programming [1].It is a collaborative project sustained by a team of people from different ggplot2 places of the world and disciplines, including statistics, financial, Hmisc genetics, network analysis, data mining, among others. Today there tables exist more than 12000 packages or libraries of R [2], and the project continues growing both in number of libraries and in areas of knowledge. In this work, we study the relations between the Libraries of R through both dependencies (when a library requires than others be installed) and suggestions (when a library suggests others to use together) using directed complex networks. We characterize the evolution of both networks from the beginning of the project in 1999 (publication date of the firs library) until nowadays, and we propose some applications to assist the user.
